    The Sango approach

    Criteria-based return — not a calendar guess.

Most clinics discharge athletes when pain is "manageable" or when insurance visits run out. We use objective, sport-specific benchmarks — strength ratios, hop symmetry, agility drills, and movement quality under fatigue — to decide when you're actually ready to compete again.

Every rehab plan includes loading progression tied to your practice and game schedule, manual therapy for tissue quality, and the dry needling or BFR tools that accelerate recovery without adding unnecessary joint stress.

Parents are welcome at every adolescent visit. We communicate with coaches and athletic trainers when it supports a safe, coordinated return to play.

    Common questions from athletes.

Do you work with competitive and high school athletes?
Yes. We see adolescent and adult athletes across competitive levels — from club sports and high school programs to recreational runners and CrossFitters. Every plan is built around your sport, position, and season demands.
    What is return-to-sport physical therapy?
Return-to-sport rehab goes beyond basic recovery. We use criteria-based milestones — strength ratios, hop tests, agility drills, and sport-specific movement screens — to decide when you're truly ready, not just when the calendar says so.
Can you help prevent injuries before they happen?
Absolutely. We offer pre-season movement screens, landing-mechanics analysis, and individualized strength programs designed to correct the asymmetries and movement faults that lead to ACL tears, shoulder injuries, and overuse problems.
Do you offer dry needling and BFR for athletes?
Yes. Dry needling is excellent for releasing the overactive muscles common in throwing and running athletes. BFR training lets you maintain or rebuild strength during periods of reduced loading — ideal for in-season recovery and post-op rehab.
How is this different from a regular PT clinic?
Most clinics see athletes for 15–20 minutes between other patients. At Sango, every sports visit is 55–75 minutes, one-on-one, with a therapist who understands the biomechanics of your sport. We also communicate with coaches and trainers when appropriate.
Do I need a referral from a coach or doctor?
No. Tennessee allows direct access to physical therapy. You can book a visit directly, and we'll coordinate with your physician or athletic trainer if your situation requires it.
